Production Meeting 3

This lesson we have decided that Elise is going to start on the film timeline, Ben is doing the Risk asssessment for our location and I am doing the Text in the opening scene and what order it will go in. Our team is working efficiently and getting tasks done on time but I believe that our communication could be improved.

Evaluation Of Film Pitch

We Pitched our Boxing Film to the class. Overall the feedback was good about the film, people thought it was quite original compared to other boxing films and would be a suitable film opening as we would be able to record this opening to a good standard. One of my class mates thought that the opening scene was a bit boring and recommended adding a fight scene in the opening scene to solidify the sport/action genre. We could also pitched our film much better by shortening the amount we said as some people got bored by all the text and we could of pitched it more enthusiastically. People also thought this was a good choice of genre as it isn’t often used so our film will be more unique than other peoples. They also thought that the genre would be clear throughout the opening scene and leaves a lot of enigma codes for what’s going to happen between the two boys throughout the film.

Production Meeting 1

We pitched our film ideas to each other and decided on Ben’s idea of A Rich/Poor Sport Action film about two boxers who are “Fighting to Survive” which is also the film title. We are going to present this to the class next lesson and hopefully get some feedback. We agreed on this as we think the ideas is original, realistic to film and is the one we all felt most confident about doing.

Student Evalutation

I Personally would Give this: 40/60

What worked well: The camera shots for the first half of the opening scene was really good and suited the shots. I also liked the actor they found as it suited the role of the character they needed. The sounds added a good effect and tension to the scene and made me wonder why is he doing is which is good.

What Didn't work: The jumping back and forth near the end made no sense as I had no idea why he was walking up to the door. It left you with too much  confusion so you didn't really know what the plot is. They also went for a stereotypical person which made it similar to other things rather than something different and original.

48/60

Worked well: The music and editing added the tension and made this opening scene. The black and white also added an eerie feel when watching  the opening scene.
What could have been improved: The camera shots could have been improved in some places and the acting of the person could have been improved also. Displaying the name of this opening scene would also improve it.

Prelim Task

This was my groups Prelim task. We were given the theme of Thriller so we decided to go with a nightmare which leaves many cliff-hangers e.g why is this happening?Who is this person in the nightmares? making the people watching want to know what's going to happen to this person. For more details look at my Prezzi account to see the planning done.
